Alpha 9 released
Pesterchum godot » Devlog
The “wow these things shuoldve been added like 8 months ago” update
Lots of stuff! with these additions, im fairly sure pesterchum_godot is feature-complete enough to use as a client on the regular
Likely the alpha_
naming scheme is going to get dropped in the near future in favor of more standard 1.0.0 kind of versioning.
- Automatic Nickserv login! Setting a nickserv password in your profile preferences will authenticate you when you connect
- There is no success/error feedback yet, but you can view if it worked by opening a DM with NickServ (via the menu “Help”->“nickserv”)
- Added random encounters!!
- Enable it in your profile preferences to receive random encounters from other users
- Click “Random encounter” under the “Client” menubar to start an encounter
- Added per-profile memo autojoin list
- Yes, you can finally remove the #pesterchum_godot autojoin :P
- Update checking! from now on, pesterchum_godot will check if a new version is available on startup
- This can be disabled in the flag settings
- Added the blocklist, where you can view & remove users you have blocked. View it by clicking the “Blocklist” entry in the “Client” menu
- Memos are now properly re-joined when you lose connection after joining a memo
- Previously, it would appear as though you were still participating, but no messages would be sent or received
/me
now ignores quirks, so it still works if you have a quirk that would previously interfere with it- Canon handles now have a special icon next to their handle in the userlist
- Added a settings flag to higher/lower the virtual keyboard on android by X pixels, to avoid the OS keyboard covering up text you’re typing
- Configs are now saved more often, and now at all on web (which previously would not save any profile at all, resetting on refresh)
- added bog witch
- MacOS builds exist now. Gatekeeper will very likely block it from running, but downloading it through the itch.io application may work
- When chatting on android, the keyboard no longer dissapears if you press the ==> (send) button, which should make chatting a whole lot less frustrating
- Pressing “D” on desktop no longer opens the debug menu. oops. that one was embarrassing.
- if you want to summon the debug menu, you can use F6. but half of the entries are outdated and unused
note: there is a known bug that causes the userlist in memos to fill up with people that arent actually there after having it open for a long time. cause unknown atm
